| The ChemOffice BioAssay provides scientists with an effective way of managing test results for biological and other kinds of experiments intended to assess the efficacy of compounds. Particularly suited for the complex biological assays involved with lead optimization, the BioAssay provides researchers with simple tools for setting up their models in a database and uploading data to the database. | |
|
User Friendly Assay Management |
Even for the most basic protein assays, the independent and dependent variables used by the biologist to quantify efficacy can vary substantially from assay to assay. In some cases this variability is due to the way the assay is carried out. In many cases, this variability is due to the nature of the disease pathway under investigation. The underlying requirement that follows from this variability is for a flexible data management system that can adapt quickly to different assays and biological models. With the ChemOffice solution, researchers simply define the independent and dependent variables that describe a model. (For example concentration and % inhibition as well as compound ID, date, notebook, etc.) The database does the rest. Users can even set up drill-down capability from the same form. This allows users, for example, to click an IC50 and see a graph of % Inh vs. concentration. The software even supports complex in vivo models. |
|
Biotechnology Research Group Solution |
With this new addition, the ChemOffice line becomes the optimal solution for biotech companies. ChemOffice fulfills all the main requirements for even the largest biotech. This includes Web-based compound registration, compound availability and purchasing, reaction data management, data visualization, combinatorial chemistry and now biological assay data management. |
|
Excel Data Imports |
Once the database is configured for an assay, Microsoft Excel is used to compute the numbers. Users then add an import template section to their Excel sheets with BioAssay Manager. The software will automatically load results into the database when the template is set up. In the process, the software will separate drill-down data from main results and check the validity of the data. |

Find Structure-Activity Relationships |
Users visualize loaded data with ChemFinder and ChemOffice WebServer for the Enterprise Version which are designed specifically to make it easy for users to look at structures and alphanumerics side by side. These existing components of the ChemOffice product line allow users to analyze their structural and biological data, as well as providing the capability to structure search. Both ChemFinder and ChemOffice WebServer for the Enterprise Version make it easy to create customized forms for viewing data. ChemFinder provides end user form building tools. ChemOffice WebServer for the Enterprise Version allows programmers to quickly make structure enabled Web tools for viewing structure activity data. Users can export data to Excel, from both ChemOffice WebServer for the Enterprise Version and ChemFinder, for further analysis and reporting. |
